Applied Kinesiology Chiropractic Technique
Hi, I’m Dr. Matthew Alch (Chiropractor) and I am your local family Chiropractor.
So what is the applied kinesiology chiropractic technique? Applied kinesiology is a form of muscle testing. It is one of many techniques we use here at Sydney Spinal Care to provide you with better health outcomes.
This technique recognises that appropriate body mechanics, biochemistry and emotional health are fundamental to better health.
The applied kinesiology system evaluates aspects of health using manual muscle testing combined with other standard methods of diagnosis and treatment. It is based on the idea that the body has a natural ability to heal itself.
Pressure is placed on muscles while asking questions about symptoms or other health problems. The theory behind applied kinesiology is that when muscles are stretched, they resist against the examiner’s force, and that weakness in those muscles, then they will give up sooner than stronger ones.
This technique can be used in combination with other modalities, for diagnosis and treatment of a range of musculoskeletal issues. However it should not be confused with kinesiology which is a branch of science that studies human movement.
